What is WelcomeTaxi?
WelcomeTaxi is an international transport service, founded in Moscow in 2009, that specialises in car transfer bookings and chauffeur services, especially for foreign clients. All our employees and most of our drivers speak English. WelcomeTaxi Ltd is registered as a company in the British Virgin Islands.
Can I use my own car for work?
Of course! In all the cities where WelcomeTaxi is present, our drivers collaborate with us and earn money by using their own cars.
Can I work only when I want to?
WelcomeTaxi allows drivers to set their own working hours. You only accept the requests that you want. We have no work shifts and no timetables for drivers.
How does our employment relationship work? Do I have to sign a contract with your company?
We do not employ our drivers, therefore, WelcomeTaxi does not enter into an employment agreement with a driver. You sign an Agreement for the provision of Information Services (by clicking 'Agree' once you have read the text on our website). Under this Agreement, we provide you with information about customers requesting transfer services, and you provide these services under certain conditions, as specified in the Agreement and the Additional Conditions for your city. If you are registered as a sole proprietor in Russia, we can also sign an individual contract between you and one of our Russian companies, but this is entirely optional.
What about my taxes? Will you withhold tax or inform the tax service of my income?
The payment of all applicable taxes in your jurisdiction is solely your responsibility. We are not a tax agent and do not make any tax deductions. If you enter into an Agreement with WelcomeTaxi Ltd to provide Information Services, we do not share any information with the tax agency in your country, unless directed to by competent judicial authorities in the British Virgin Islands, where our company is registered.
What documents are required for registering with WelcomeTaxi?
You will need to send us scans or photographs of the following documents, using a form on this site:
- your identification document (passport, national identity card or internal passport);
- a driver's license;
- vehicle registration certificate;
- public liability insurance policy.
We also need photographs of your car.
Why do you need so much of my personal data and documents?
All transport service companies like ours require an applicant to provide a certain set of documents, as a way to identify the car, and in order to verify the driver's identity and their right to drive this car. WelcomeTaxi is no exception in this regard.
Although many corporate clients prefer companies with incredibly meticulous security policies (making drivers undergo formal and informal checks for past criminal offences and putting them through lie detector tests), we continue to require only the necessary minimum documentation from our new drivers, which is less than the requirements of other companies.
Can my personal information end up somewhere else?
No, absolutely not. All the information provided by you to WelcomeTaxi during registration is confidential, sent via an encrypted channel and stored on the servers of Formstack, LLC (Indianapolis, USA), one of the world leaders in the SaaS industry.
Do I need to attend an interview?
This is usually not required. The information, photos, and documents that you upload when registering online is sufficient. However, in rare cases, we may ask the driver to meet one of our representatives for a personal interview and car inspection.
How will I receive requests?

What percentage of the total service cost will I receive?
In most cases, the driver receives 70% of the total service cost.
What is the average cost of an order?
It is relatively high, given that most of the requests are for transfers to and from the airport. We receive relatively few requests for short city trips.
Do you receive cash or electronic orders?
In about two-thirds of cases, customers pay the driver in cash. The remaining third consists of cashless corporate orders or requests that are paid online by the customer using a credit card.
How I will pay you a commission (service charge)?
Using an online credit/debit card or PayPal. All payments are processed using the payment aggregator 2CheckOut.com, so we do not receive or store your bank card details.
How will I receive payment for cashless orders?
Payments are made at least once per fortnight, based on your available account balance. We will send you money to your Payoneer Prepaid MasterCard. If you don't have yet your Payoneer account, learn more about it here: payoneer.com
What is my balance in your system?
Your balance is the amount due to you for cashless orders, plus all the payments made by you to WelcomeTaxi, plus possible compensations, minus our Commission for the completed orders, and minus other possible deductions (e.g. fines). You can always see your current balance in your Driver app.
I have registered on your website and have uploaded all the necessary documents and photographs. When can I start receiving requests?
As soon as we verify the information that you have sent us and, if everything checks out, register you in our system, you will receive an email with detailed information about further actions. This usually occurs within a day or two. You will be able to receive and carry out requests as soon as this happens.
